Karen Bruno is in demand as a choral pedagogue, clinician, and conductor. Recent engagements include the South Dakota All-State Children's Choir, Beyond the Notes Festival, and the AWAKE (Kodaly educators) Choral Festival. She has been the guest conductor for numerous Singing in Wisconsin festivals, is a past staff member of the Wisconsin School Music Association's Treble Honor Choir, and is a Master Adjudicator for the Wisconsin School Music Association. She is currently president-elect of the Wisconsin Choral Directors Association (WCDA) and is a member of Wisconsin's Comprehensive Musicianship through Performance (CMP) committee. She was a founding member of the national committee for Advocacy and Collaboration for the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) and served for six years as ACDA's North Central division Repertoire and Resources Chair for Children and Community Youth Choirs.

At Lawrence's Community Music School, Ms. Bruno teaches the Bel Canto (high school) and Sorelle (adult) Girl Choir singers and is the artistic director of the Girl Choir program. She taught choral and general music in the Appleton and Oshkosh, WI public school districts, serving Lawrence students often as a cooperating teacher, and at an international school in Dakar, Senegal. She currently serves as the director of the Lawrence Community Music School.
