Interim Associate Vice President of Communications

As the director of strategic communications, I work on developing content strategy, oversee paid digital strategy, work with campus partners to develop strategic communications plans and initiatives, and also serve as the editor of Lawrence Magazine.

My current favorite project and story is the Science Learning Commons. It shows the creativity of the faculty, the commitment of the alumni, and the exciting learning opportunities for the students.

I grew up in Wisconsin, but I spent much of my career in Washington, D.C. primarily focused on communications around Supreme Court and federal appellate impact litigation, federal judicial nominations, and civil rights and racial justice work. I served as director of communications for the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, worked as a speechwriter and communications professional for Justice Sandra Day O'Connor and her iCivics organization, and developed communications materials and strategies for legal think tanks and advocacy organizations.
