The library staff welcomes students to propose temporary art installations in the building. Since 1999, we have had several pieces of sculpture each year. Some have been serious, some hilarious, and some controversial. All have been engaging and have enhanced the library as a learning space. Students often create art specifically for the library, while others finish their work and then decide the library might be an appropriate place to show it. All students agree to create an artist's statement to accompany their work. Because these installations are temporary, usually only lasting a few weeks, we have created an online exhibit of works shown since 2001. We applaud these student artists and look forward to hosting many more exhibits.

Students are encouraged to display their art in the library. Those who wish to do so should contact Peter Gilbert, the Library Director.
