From 2000 to 2009, the library, in cooperation with the Art Department at the Wriston Art Center, instituted the "Senior Art Exhibition Purchase Award." A committee of faculty and staff from the Lawrence community granted the award each year in recognition of the strength of student artwork at Lawrence University. The pieces selected became a part of the University's art collection and have hung in the Mudd Library for at least one year after selection. The student whose works were selected received a cash award. This award is no longer active.
