Report from Development
The Lawrence community continued its generous philanthropic support in FY18 with gift income totaling $17.57M. This marked the fifth year in a row that Lawrence donors contributed more than $17M! The Lawrence Fund held pace with $3,836,840. Lawrence donors continued to rally around the Full Speed to Full Need (FSFN) campaign to support our students. We surpassed the $75M mark last year towards our goal of $85M. This means we are able to provide more financial aid and full need scholarships to more students each year.
Giving Day 2018 served as a “virtual launch” for Be the Light! Learners. Leaders. Lawrentians, Lawrence’s ambitious $220M comprehensive campaign. In addition to FSFN and Lawrence Fund, Be the Light! seeks to enhance the student experience through investments in the student journey (academic, artistic, and co-curricular) and in campus renewal. Visit the Be the Light! website to learn more about this historic and transformative campaign for Lawrence.
On November 3, we had the official public launch of Be the Light! on the Lawrence campus. Building on the theme of “because of you,” students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents and friends came together to celebrate the impact of philanthropy on students.
Every gift makes a difference at Lawrence. Gifts support books for the library, sheet music for the Conservatory of Music, athletic gear for our student athletes and so much more. Alumni gifts also help bolster the alumni participation rate. This is the key data point national rankings use to determine alumni satisfaction.
We are grateful for the generous support of the Lawrence community. Together, we will make Lawrence a better Lawrence.
