If you are planning on pursuing a major in music, there are a few additional steps to complete your application. As with all applicants, you must complete the Common Application (including the Lawrence-specific parts), submit an academic teacher recommendation, school report, transcript, test scores (if you wish, as we are test-optional) and a $40 application fee.
In addition, all music applicants must schedule an audition, complete a music resume, and submit a music teacher evaluation. Please note that, because audition season is January and February, all music applicants apply to Lawrence using the Regular Decision admission plan.
You are required to audition if you plan on pursuing any of our degree options with a major in music, or if you are planning on majoring in something other than music and would like to compete for an Ensemble Award. Students are required to complete the Common Application before registering for an audition.
A music resume detailing your musical experiences is also required. You can either fill out our music resume, or submit your own resume. Your resume is due by the application deadline.
Music Teacher Evaluation
In addition to your academic teacher recommendation, you also need to submit a music teacher evaluation. This evaluation can be completed by your private teacher, high school teacher, or other teacher who could speak to your musical abilities. Your evaluation is also due by the application deadline.
The Theatre Arts workshop is designed to connect prospective theatre makers with current theatre faculty and students. Exercises in this workshop will test your workability, collaborative skills and ingenuity. Student can audition for the Theatre Arts Scholarship and attend the workshop the same day.
