The Office of Community-Based Learning and Research

The Office of Community-Based Learning and Research (CBLR) was established with generous support from the Suzanne and Richard Pieper Family Foundation, Ltd..  It seeks to promote academic, scholarly, and artistic engagement with our on-campus, and especially our off-campus, communites.  The Pieper Professor of Servant Leadership directs the Office and works to find, create, and support opportunities for students and faculty to engage with communities as they pursue the Lawrence's mission of developing intellect and talent, pursuing knowledge and understanding, and cultivating sound judgment and respect for the perspectives of others.

The CBLR relies on Lawrence's strong partnerships with local, national, and international agencies, non-profits, and organizations including:
