Into the Streets provides first-year students with an introduction to the Fox Cities area and the needs of the community. Lawrentian volunteers will be afforded the opportunity to tour an agency, learn about the mission/goals/issues of that agency, and how a Lawrence student can be of assistance. Following a brief overview of the agency, students are asked to participate in a service project together. Projects will take place at the following Fox Cities agencies:

Bethesda Thrift Store

Boys and Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley

Brewster Village (elder care)

Chances Animal Rescue

Fox Valley Literacy Council

Fox Valley Warming Shelter

Habitat for Humanity Affiliate and ReStore

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Fox Valley

Riverview Gardens

Sustainable Lawrence University Garden (SLUG)

Through involvement in the Volunteer and Community Service Center (VCSC), we hope students will become exposed to new ideas that may influence their future perspectives on community, social justice, and humanitarian issues. Please register by THURSDAY, 9/11!

Thank you for registering for Into the Streets on Saturday, September 13, 2014 from 1-5 pm!
