College -- Search internships in a variety of areas by location or category. -- Global database of internships and entry-level positions for students, recent graduates and career changers.


Smithsonian Institution -- Great internships in all of their museums, though many are unpaid. Special programs for minority students.

Idealist -- Non-profit job and internship clearinghouse that includes many positions in the arts.

ArtJob -- This website has comprehensive, up to date national and international listings of arts employment and other opportunities in the arts. Contact Career Center for login and password.

Musical On-line -- Comprehensive site containing job listings in most areas of music.

Hollywood Internships -- Offers internships in television production, casting, costume design, live production, music, movies, spots production, and many more.

Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) -- Great internship program. Due to security clearance, deadlines are in early fall. Applications are lengthy, so give yourself plenty of time.

U.S. Dept. of State -- Due to security clearance, deadlines are in early fall, so apply early!

Student Temporary Employment Program -- The STEProgram enables you to get a part time job during the school year or a summer job and it does not need to be related to your academic field of study.

The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Affairs -- The Washington Center places students in internships "representing major professional fields in the private, public and non-profit sector."  It also offers programs for students interested in working at federal agencies.  Over the past five years, more than 35 percent of the Washington Center's roughly 5000 interns served in federal agencies, the White House, and Congress.

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities -- Over the past ten years, HACU's National Internship Program (HNIP) has placed nearly 3400 undergraduate and graduate students in federal agency internships across the country.  In 2001 alone, over 615 students served in 22 federal agencies.  While the majority of participants are Hispanic, Asian Americans, African Americans, and American Indians also serve in the HNIP.

The National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education -- NAFEO places students in a wide range of federal offices, including Health and Human Services and Transportation.  Other agencies partnering with NAFEO include the Department of Defense, Labor, Interior, Veterans Affairs and Energy; NASA; and the EPA.

Call to Serve -- Assists students to learn more about internships and jobs with the federal government.

Carter Center Internship Program -- A top internship program offering opportunities in the peace, health and operations offices within The Carter Center.


Westminster College - International Internship Web Resources -- Tips about international internships and a variety of links to internships both in the US and abroad. Specific section is dedicated to international internships for science majors.

Transitions Abroad - International Internship Resources -- Thorough resource providing links to internship, work and volunteer opportunities abroad and various articles and resources.


Smithsonian Institution -- Many internships offered in different areas within the Smithsonian.  Pay attention to individual application dates and circumstances regarding internships.  

Museum Jobs -- Search job postings for internships.  Type "internship" to see the internship listings.

National Science Foundation-Research Experience for Undergraduates -- A fantastic source for thousands of research positions

National Institutes of Health -- Offers 1,000+ internships/research positions for undergraduates interested in medical research. Highly recommended for those interested in medical school.

Pre-med Coop/Internship Opportunities -- Large list of opportunities. All coops/internships are paid unless otherwise specified. This website has selected opportunities that meet any of the following criteria - 1. located in a medical or clinical setting, 2. located in a medical school or health science center, 3. has "biomedical" as a descriptor, 4. may be of particular interest to pre-med students.

American Chemical Society -- Publishes lists of internships, nationally.  

Cirrus:Chemistry Internet Resource for Research by Undergraduate Students -- Contains a variety of information and links pertinent to undergraduate research in chemistry. 

Monterey Bay Aquarium -- Internship and volunteer opportunities 

GeoSociety -- Lists geology internships through their internship program, GeoCorps America.  

FirstGOV for Science -- Lists internship opportunities with various government organizations and laboratories.  

Archaeological Institute of America -- A listing of over 250 archaeological projects throughout the world. Click on “fieldwork.”

Orion Grassroots Network -- Lists internships in conservation, education, restoration, agriculture, and activism.

Cyber-Sierra Natural Resources Job Links -- Includes summer positions, internships, and full time professional positions

Wisconsin DNR internships -- Paid internships in Wisconsin. Many new summer positions are added in March-May.

Illinois Department of Natural Resources -- Environmental education, park interpretation and administration internships are available to college and graduate students through Salaries are paid for some positions.
