Jennifer Aspen Mason '90
Bio: Jennifer Aspen Mason is vice president of research and development (R&D) for Mars Petcare US, headquartered in Franklin, Tenn. She leads the strategic development of innovation, quality and food safety programs, and regulatory affairs for the NA division of the world’s largest pet care company. In addition to this role Mason also heads the new Mars Global Innovation Center in Thompson Station, Tenn.
Mason’s focus includes providing strategic R&D leadership for all Mars Petcare US’ pet food brands, which include PEDIGREE® Brand Food for Dogs, CESAR® Brand Canine Cuisine, WHISKAS® Brand Food for Cats, THE GOODLIFE RECIPE® Brand, NUTRO®, Greenies®, Iams®, Eukanuba®, and Mars’ Exclusive Brands private label pet food.
Prior to joining Mars in 2011, Mason worked at Unilever in the North America Ice Cream Division and as a category director of research and development. Throughout her career at Unilever, Mason held research and development positions across all of Unilever’s food categories and retail across three regions; local, regional and global. In her last role, she drove innovation, cost savings, quality and sustainability of a $2 billion portfolio. Brands included Breyer’s, Klondike, Popsicle, Good Humor, Starbuck’s, Magnum and Ben & Jerry’s.
Mason received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology/Neuroscience from Lawrence University, magna cum laude, a Master of Business Administration from Henley Management College, UK and a Doctor of Philosophy, Psychology, from the University of Chicago.
Mason resides in the Nashville area with her husband, Paul, their two children, Eliza and Sasha, and two dogs, Maka and Misty. She enjoys running and competing in triathlons in her spare time.
Bio: Laura joined Kimberly-Clark Corporation in 2006. During her career at Kimberly-Clark, she has held various positions in different functions. In 2014 Laura joined the Talent Acquisition team as a College Recruiter. She is responsible for the supply chain co-op program and entry level recruiting. Other experiences gained at K-C include roles in Competitive Intelligence and Global Risk Management. Laura holds a bachelor degree in Organizational Behavior from UW Oshkosh and a Master’s degree in Human Resource Development from UW Stout.
