FAQ

General FAQ

Q: What kinds of novels do you write?
A: All kinds. I honestly write whatever I want. I don't like being told what I can or cannot write, and I hate comforming to the norms of society with my works.

Q: No, I meant, what genre do you write?
A: All kinds. Slice-of-Life, Horror-Thrillers, Fantasy, Sci-fi, name it and I will probably write it. I have even written short stories and when I was in high school collaborated with classmates and my brother to write a play. Note: For obvious reasons, I don't right solid eroge or anything pornographic.

Q: May I read your unfinished manuscript?
A: Unless you are a publisher or an agent, the answer is no. I'm sorry, but I don't like people reading my stuff until it's absolutely perfect. The only people who read it ahead of time are really close friends and family.

Q: May I read your finished manuscript?
A: Sorry, like I said, unless you are a publisher or an agent, the answer is no. You will get to read them when they are published.

Q: What is your process for writing a novel?
A: It usually begins with something really small. Usually it's just a scene that I think up, and gradually I build on it.

Q: On average, how long does it take to write a novel?
A: I usually write for 2 - 5 hours a day for half a year to write one novel. That doesn't include the time that I think about the storyline, but it does include writing, editing, and proofreading.

Website FAQ

Q: Why is the website called Blue Snow if it is your official website?
A: Blue and Snow are my two favorite things, so I put them together. Well, actually, it's an interesting story. Originally, the webste was going to be called Aoi Yuki, which is Blue Snow is Japanese. Aoi and Yuki were the first two solid characters to which I gave birth, so I named it after them. But I didn't want to name it Aoi Yuki because this website was so much more than just a website for a single novel, so I converted it to English.

Q: Is it true that you created this website by yourself?
A: Yes. I used Dreamweaver to create the layout, but because I prefer being able to control things, I typed out a lot of the code. Anything that is JavaScript I typed out completely.

Q: What about the pictures? Did you create the pictures on your website as well?
A: Yes. Most of them are entirely my creation and come from the Cover Art for my books. A few of the pictures are what I like to call mixed. Someone created something, and I took that part and mixed it with something of mine to create a pleasing image.

Q: Why haven't you answered my email yet?
A: I promise that if you sent it, I will get to it, but as I am a student, I have homework, readings, sports practices, and exams that I must take along with any sort of writing I hope to accomplish.

Q: How does the progress tab work under projects?
A: It works well, but seriously, this how it works:

Symbol
Meaning
-
The task at hand has yet to be done. A hyphen in the writing phase simply means that the chapter has neither been written nor planned.
Planned
The chapter has been planned, and for the most part I know how the chapter is going to work.
%
How much of the current phase I have completed. Percentage is calculated by finding the amount of words that have been completed within the phase. If there is a percentage in the writing phase, it was calculated using the previous chapter's words (and as such is unreliable in that task).
*
Simply put, this is a problem phase, and I am having trouble with it. Often times this will show up under the writing task or rewriting phase in conjuction with another symbol. If it shows up in the editing or proofreadind phase, it means I am being especially lazy.
#
The phase is currently halted (often due to conflicts such as homework, sporting events, or final exams).
Prelude
Not a symbol, but (a chapter and) something I am often asked? A few of my novels use music terminology as a means of conveying position in novel. Synonymous to prologue.
Postlude
Not a symbol, but (a chapter and)something I am often asked? A few of my novels use music terminology as a means of conveying position in novel. Synonymous to epilogue.

Q: Why do things change under the progress bar? Yesterday such-and-such chapter was complete, but today it says that it has yet to be completed or is at 50%.
A: Chances are the novel's overall plotline change recently, so I scrapped a previous chapter. It happens all the time. That is why it can be difficult to judge when I will finish just by the progress bar. The progress bar works, but does not take into account that I might change the plot of a story.

Q: I found something wrong with your website.
A: Great! I'd love to know how to fix it. Send me an email with the contact button.

Q: There's a flaw with such-and-such on your website and I know how to fix it.
A: Even better! Send me an email with the way to fix it.

Novel FAQ

Q: I heard that you have completed three novels already. What happened to them?
A: I have written three novels: ZER07, Half-Demon, and Threads of Destiny? ZER07 is going to be part of a series, but Half-Demon and Threads of Destiny are being combined into a series called The Nameless.

Q: Why did you decide to combine Half-Demon and Threads of Destiny?
A: They were similar stories with similar themes and similar characters. I didn't think that when I began writing Threads of Destiny that I would be writing something so similar, and so I decided that the two stories, still slightly not perfect, could be better if made one. Half-Demon is the second book in the series and Threads of Destiny is the final.

Q: Have any of your novels been published?
A: Sadly, no. However, I am working toward publication. There are far too many great characters and powerful stories not to persue publication.

Q: What are you trying to get published first?
A: We Were There...

Q: Why are you trying to get We Were There... published first?
A: The main reason is because the characters and their stories are powerful. Their problems are always irritating me; during soccer practice, in my sleep, when I'm watching movies. I think that everyone should have a chance to understand the characters.

Q: I read your Sample Chapter from ZER07 and it didn't seem to be as good as your other novels. Why is that?
A: ZER07 was the first novel I completed, and if you check the progress page I never reached the editing and proofreading stage. Also, it might not sound like my normal tone or look like my regular writing style. This is because at the time I wrote ZER07 I had begun developing my writing syle. When I finish editing and proofreading the novel, I will update the Sample Chapter.

Author FAQ

Q: What was your favorite novel to write or are writing?
A: The Nameless because it is so incredibly intricate and chilling.

Q: What was your least favorite novel to write or are writing?
A: We Were There... because the story changed five times and there were 500 pages (which is 135,136 words) that I didn't ever use. This book has been quite painful for me as the story took forever to settle.

Q: What is your favorite novel you've written?
A: I like all of them for different reasons.

(Come on... ask me some questions. I won't bite. I promise.)
