Dan Kreiser

Daniel Zachary Kreiser was born in 1989 in Brockport, New York. After moving to Beloit, Wisconsin, he attended Powers Elementary School, and later Townview Elementary. His middle and high school years were spent at Beloit F.J. Turner where he first began to write.

In eighth grade, he began writing a novel entitled Black Star Academy. He gave it to a friend of his to read, and she enjoyed reading it so much that she said she wanted to the read the rest of it when it was done. This was when Daniel Kreiser stopped writing just for fun but thought that his novels might become more than just fantastic stories written for fun. He tried finishing Black Star Academy, but was unable to properly conclude the novel. At the time, he had tackled too large a task.

Instead, he broke Black Star Academy into three novels: Threads of Destiny, Half-Demon, and ZER07, which he concluded prior to his senior year in high school. But he was not satisfied with his work. ZER07 was the only novel of the three that he wrote from start to finish using the original story line. The other two were created gradually over time. He wrote the first chapter of Threads of Destiny, creating the villain before the hero. Daniel stalled out and decided that he would come back to the novel in at a later time. Then, he wrote Half-Demon, writing nearly a quarter of it in one day during Christmas break. Later, he returned to Threads of Destiny.

He almost sent Threads of Destiny to a publisher, but decided against it as a more powerful, heart-rending story sparked within his mind. It was the summer break after his junior year that he began writing We Were There... At that time, the story was called Five Pages Per Second, and ironically, the story changed five times before finally becoming an entirely different story: We Were There...

We Were There... will be the first novel that Daniel Kreiser will attempt to publish. If it is published, he will return to a pair of stories that are equally powerful as We Were There... It was during a night at soccer practice that he realized that Half-Demon and Threads of Destiny were never meant to be two separate tales but one series. He had invented the villain of Threads of Destiny, and then accidently created the hero for Threads of Destiny in Half-Demon. He realized that he had unintentionally used the same hero in both his novels. Following the publication of We Were There... he will write The Nameless, the story that he meant to tell in eighth grade but was too inept to write.

Daniel Kreiser, 19, is now living in Appleton as a freshman at Lawrence University where he is currently planning to major in Physics and Mathematics with a minor in English.
