Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras is an annual celebration of Fat Tuesday. This celebration draws a crowd of 300-350 Lawrence students, faculty and staff. Mardi Gras draws the university community together to kick back and enjoy authentic New Orleans food and music, casino games, prize drawings, mask making, tarot card reading and an incredibly fabulous evening in the midst of winter. Beads, masks and costumes are often featured items during the event. Prizes are given out at the end of the evening, ranging from laundry tokens to DVDs.

Interested in being a part of the planning committee? The Mardi Gras committee involves a group of students and one advisor and gives students a chance to get involved in leadership roles, experience various aspects of major event planning, or simply come with their friends, professors and other community members to experience a taste of Mardi Gras.
