Alyssa Paul Maria Fund

The Alyssa Paul Maria '93 Fund for Student Entertainment was established to support innovative and exciting programming for the Lawrence University campus. Funds are available to both organizations and individuals with creative ideas for programs that will benefit Lawrence and its student body. In the past, the Alyssa Paul Maria Fund has contributed to campus dances, lectures such as "Creative Dating" and "Differently Gendered People," Ballet Folklorico, and the Yellow Technicolor Tour.

 The Alyssa Paul Maria Fund Committee meets as needed throughout the academic year. The committee will review each proposal, and then bring a recommendation to SOUP for approval at the next SOUP meeting.

 Proposals for the Alyssa Paul Maria Fund should be submitted in writing to the Campus Activities Office. Please use the application linked below if possible. Attach additional information about the proposed program as necessary. Be sure to include the following:

  1. Title of proposed event
  2. Proposed date and time of event
    • Have you checked the college events calendar for potential conflicts?
    • Why is this an appropriate date for the program?
  3. Proposed location of event
    • Is space reserved or on hold yet?
  4. Name of sponsoring organization (or individual)
  5. Contact person's name, campus address, and phone number
  6. Description of event (Attach supporting information as appropriate.)
    • How will this event serve as student entertainment?
    • Who would benefit from this event, and why?
    • What other support will you need (non-financial, i.e., equipment, facilities, staff, organizational support, etc.)?
  7. Projected attendance of event
  8. Proposed publicity for event
  9. Projected budget for event, including:
    • Projected expenses
    • Other sources or proposed sources of funding
    • Total amount requested from the Alyssa Paul Maria Fund
Please note the recipients of funding from the Alyssa Paul Maria Fund will be required to provide copies of all publicity materials (posters, ads, programs, etc.) with an event evaluation to SOUP within two weeks following the event. In addition, all publicity and printed materials for the event must list the Alyssa Paul Maria Fund as a sponsor.
