Announcements:
We are now affiliated with SSA (Secular Student Alliance) which gives us access to lots of stuff (see link).
You can now send emails to the entire group at lufft@lawrence.edu
Proposed Events:
Debate: Is America a Christian nation?
-2/3 person panel representing each side of the argument
-Prof. Dreher or Prof. Carr will act as a moderator
-Outlines of the points will be submitted and reviewed beforehand
-It will be decided during the debate whether a Q&A session should follow
Darwin Day / Revolutionary Thinkers Week
-Feb 12, Darwin Day (Monday after reading period)
-Event is intended to raise awareness about Freethought and specifically our group
-Culminates in a trip to the Milwaukee natural history museum
-Schedule:
Monday - Biology: Evolution; Darwin
Tuesday - Geology: Age of the Earth; Hutton, Lyell
Wednesday - Physics: Heliocentricity; Copernicus, Galileo, Kepler
?Thur - Chemistry: ???
-Activities: Tabling, Trivia, Posters, Flyers, Speakers?, Trip
-Posters: Who were/are they?, What did they do?, Why is it Freethought?
-Speaker suggestions: ???, Bjornerud, Pickett, ???
