Hi everyone!  Hope everyone is having a terrific weekend.  I have quite a few things to update you on, so here we go:

A reminder to the exec board:  there will be a short mtg, from 6:50 to 7:00 tonite to discuss your involvement in the committees - please come so that we can make a final decision.

Also, don't forget that the improvement committee meets tonite at 7:00.  If you have not received the agenda or would like to add something, please call or email Tim ASAP.

HOMECOMING:    Thanks to everyone who came to our planning mtg on wed. night -  we got a lot of things decided, and it was very helpful for me to have some concrete plans to bring to Paul & Dave.  Here are the results:

1)Campus activities will pay for the DJ & rent the necessary equipment. (Dave Frye has the DJ contract, and should have contacted Amanda about the equipment he needs, etc.)

2)We will not be charging admission to the dance, but because we were hoping to use it as a fundraiser, campus activities will probably donate some money to Lambda Sigma for helping.

3) Dave will order cookies & punch from the catering dept, so Jenni, Rebecca & Crystal--you don't have to go shopping for food!

4)Campus activities will pay for the streamers & balloons we will get.

5) The dance will not be in Riverview-- instead it will be in the Underground coffeehouse to give it a better atmosphere.  The entire week of homecoming activities takes place in Riverview, and so Paul & Dave felt it would be nice to have a change.

6)  I plastered the campus with signs about the millenium carnival, but we need to make some for the dance, comedy cafe on wed,  and Blue monkey slide show on Thurs. (Publicity comm-  get the details about ea. event from me. You may turn flyers in to Paul or Dave & they will copy them for you on colored paper.   Don't feel like you have to put them all around campus yourselves  -  just email us with a time, and hopefully everyone in Lambda Sigma can help!  )

7)  The dance will take place from 9-midnight.  Please plan to meet at 6pm to help set up equipment, put up streamers, etc.  From there we will decide on shifts for during the dance.

I think that's about it for now.  I'll keep you posted if any changes should arise.  Hope everyone has an enjoyable week 2!

*****P.S.   In  case you missed  the meeting last Sun,  I want to thank you again for all of your hard work & dedication during new student week.  I want you to know that it was truly appreciated by the students, faculty, and staff, and that not a day goes by without someone telling me what a great job Lambda Sigma did.  They couldn't have pulled it off without us  :-)

        On a personal note, I want to thank all of you for being so energetic and helpful.  Anytime I called and said that plans had changed or we had been given another job, you were right there to help, with smiles on your faces.  I really appreciated that.  And special thanks to our junior advisors, Seth, Craig, and Zach, and of course, Linda, who patiently answered all my inquiries and filled in when we needed xtra help.  We love you guys!  After having such a successful first week, I am confident that we have a great year ahead of us!  Great joy, everyone!!!
