Officer Reports
President's Report (Michelle Ansay)
One of the projects we need to undertake this spring is to nominate a member for one of four $500 Lambda Sigma scholarships. Our nominee must have their completed application sent to Nationals by April 1, 2000. These scholarships will be awarded during the summer for the 2000-2001 academic year. The guidelines are as follows:
All chapters who have made a contribution of $25 or more to
thescholarship fund, during the current academic year, are
eligible to nominate one candidate. We need to decide upon a fair
and open process to choose someone who meets the national
scholarship eligibility requirements. These include:
* a current active member of our chapter and a second year
student at Lawrence
* at least sophomore status (hours) with a minimum 3.5 grade
point average (4.0 scale)
* a significant contributor to our chapter, our university and
the the community; and
* a demonstrated ability for leadership.
After our chapter has made its selection, the completed packet will be sent to Nationals. The packet must include the following items (all typed):
1. scholarship application form (Lambda Sigma website)
2. letter of nomination from the chapter, with emphasis on why
this individual was chosen as our scholarship nominee
3. letter of application, from the nominee, focusing on what
Lambda Sigma involvement has meant to nominee
4. Official transcript
5. three letters of recommendation from faculty or staff (It is
suggested that each reference address a different aspect of our
nominee's achievements: scholarship, leadership, community/
institutional service or contributions to the Lambda Sigma
chapter).
This packet must reach Nationals by April 1, 2000. Nominees will be notified of the committee's decision in August.
Treasurer's Report (David Scott)
We spent $30 on the cake last week. Other than that, nothing new to report. [We then have approximately $1288.47.]

We sent a second batch of Plantz sheets two days later; these were successfully included into the whole batch. Yea! Some minor squabbles over a last payment; Crystal will call Data Match and talk with them. Sticky points for Lambda Sigma concerning Data Match...to discuss
