Secretaryıs Report

Treasurerıs report:  around $840
-$2000 fundraising goal for this year

Megan C. decided that for now she will not need a co-chair.  If help is needed
in the future, Sally volunteered to help her.

In addition to Linda Fuerst, we voted Dean Hemwall and Dave Frye to serve as
our advisors.

Make sure you are signed up on the Birthday sheet.  If you arenıt, talk to
Michelle.


New Business
Committee reports

-Service
- two forms were passed out to everyone-one with the format for reporting
service hours to the service committee through e-mail and one that everyone
can use to record his/her hours as a personal log.  Extra forms can be picked
up at the Info desk
-everyone is required to provide 10 hours of service per term
-service hours can be divided among as many activities as you would like
-New Student Week hours will not be counted toward the service hour
requirement, however they will replace the required group service project for
term 1
-faculty babysitting and ushering will not count as service hours, but
everyoneıs help with these activities is appreciated
-some upcoming volunteer opportunities:
-Halloween party at the Boys and Girls Club, October 28, time TBA
-Touretteıs syndrome conference needs volunteers to help with childrenıs
activities, mid-October
-dog walking and help with laundry at the animal shelter, training is
September 28, 6:30PM-talk to Derek if you have questions

-Fundraising and Social Committees planned to have brief meetings after the
large group meeting ended

-Publicity Committee will not have set meeting times, but will contact its
members as needed

-Committee heads should e-mail agendas to the entire group before they meet

-Standards Committee needs to meet in order to establish an attendance policy

-One chair from each committee must attend the Improvement meeting next week

A meeting time and place was voted on for our meetings:
-Every other Sunday at 7PM in the Sage lounge

Dave Frye wants to take us out somewhere as a thank you for the help we
provided during New Student Week
-Suggestions were:
-Baskin Robbins
-Funset Boulevard
-bowling
-laser tag
-Chuck E. Cheese
-paint ball
-Some Lambda Sigma members were assigned to look into these activities and
should be prepared to report back to the group at our next meeting.

Homecoming
-Amanda and Heather volunteered to look into some bands and DJs for the dance. 
The cost of the music should not exceed $150.
-Lambda Sigma is responsible for dance decorations, music, and food.

Michelle thanks everyone for all of his/her help during New Student Week.

-this meeting is not required, but we need everyoneıs help
