Hey l= ambs!

These are the lambda sigma meeting minutes from Monday's meeting - if y= ou weren't there you should DEFINITELY READ THIS, if you were there and you weren't paying attention you can catch what you missed here. Just DON'T do it again. Geez.

1. Unless there are a multitude of people who can't make the current ti= me, Travis and the group have decided that weekly meetings will be MONDAYS at 8= PM. This week's meeting was only 15ish minutes proving that our meetings are pr= etty sweet - quick and painless!

2. As Travis stated, LS is a SERVICE and SOCIAL organization, so our go= als for the year are basically to help out the community in service projects and get to know each other and have some fun (LS formal, yeah!)!

3. 1st event: the CROPWALK. The cropwalk is= open to anyone. It involves walking to 'fight hunger.' 75% of money collected go= es to fighting hunger on a global scale, and 25% goes right into the local community. The date for CropWalk is Sunday Octo= ber 8th. You would meet in 12:40 pm in Riverview and walk around the Appleton area - <= span class=3DGramE>either 1mile, 3 miles, or 6 miles. You can run if you choose as well. If you are interested in this service opportunity, you shou= ld have signed up at Monday's meeting, or you can email Travis. You may choose= to walk, or you can raise money (online at www.cropwalk.org). For more info, go hear Gaston Razafy speak at 8:00pm at the Coffeehouse!

4. A number of different service activities will be 'available' this ye= ar - some past activities include nursing homes, faculty babysitting (2 hr shift= s), ushering at convos, etc.

5. A definite number of hours per term required for all members has not officially been set, but it will be around 10 hrs/term so start your service!

6. Hanah presented the proposed t-shirt des= ign. As of right now this will include a lamb awesomely drawn by <= span class=3DSpellE>Ashlan along with some LS logos in a blue color on a = black t-shirt. Publicity committee's big project are the t-shirts so they will make ALL the decisions - there will be NO in-meet= ing discussion. If you care strongly about the t-shirt design, join the publici= ty committee and be a part of the process, otherwise we don't want to hear from you! That came off really mean which was sort of intentional but..just don't make comme= nts on t-shirts at the meetings and they will stay short! :)

7. A question was asked about how to record service hours. Service hours will be recorded on the lambda sigma website which has not been activated y= et as Jenny is working it. Service hours are another part of that LU Honor Code stuff. So remember what that Steve Martin standby, "It is better to be truthful and good, than to not." So be honorable when recording hours = once the website is activated!
