Lambda Sigma: January 9^th Meeting Minutes

3. Our Goodwill bin is overflowing! It counts as 1 service hour every time you take the materials and drive them to Goodwill. If no one wants to, Goodwill will come and empty the bin themselves. This week Schuyler volunteered to take the clothes there.

4. Publicity Committee:

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO PROMPTLY ANSWERED THE EMAIL SENT DURING BREAK! This is the last chance for people to let me know their t-shirt size! Shirts will be ordered on Tuesday! If you have not paid, you MUST talk to Linda directly after this meeting and let her know when you plan to pay. I'm passing a list around - please check it to make sure that your size is correct (if there is no size listed, please put one in). Thank you! Welcome back!

5. Fundraising Committee:

Three possibilities for the near future:

Beard Growing Contest- We decided this was a good idea and that people would be interested in participating. We were thinking of having different categories and giving the winner of each category a donated prize. People would have to pay a certain amount of money to enter the contest.

Clothing Drive- We will be asking business to donate a certain amount of money for every pound that we get in clothing for a week or so.

Hugging Booth- we are doing this for sure. It is 50 cents a hug and 75 cents a kiss on the cheek, or $1 for both. We are doing this January 17-20^th at Downer for lunch and dinner. You can either sign up to be the hugger/kisser or the person that manages the money. Some people signed up today, but you can also sign up at the next meeting.

6. We also signed up to volunteer on January 28^th for the Reading Program- Darby. This takes places from 9:45am-1pm.

7. Social Committee…Meeting sometime early this term

8. We also signed up to help LUCC table for elections. This counts towards your service hours. E-mail Catherine with questions or if you want to sign up. They need people for both lunches and dinners.

9. Committee chairs…Thanks to those who emailed me before the meeting today with updates! Please continue to email me before 5pm (earlier if possible) so I can put updates on the agenda.

10. Andy talked about the Selections Committee. They decided to send out the applications much early. They will send them out the first week of February, and they will be due finals week. The interview will take place the first week of third term.

11. We got our money back from LUCC!!

12. We also decided that the Coffeehouse is a better location for our meetings. Plan on having our next meeting at the Coffeehouse instead of our regular locations.
