Lambda Sigma Minutes from February 6, 2006
1. T-shirts are here and they look sweeeeeeet! Good job on the design. We should plan on wearing them when we do Lambda Sigma service activities, tabling, etc… And I hope that today you are all wearing your t-shirts and that you wear them with Lambda Sigma pride. No matter how cold you think you’ll be. Pride, ladies and gentlemen, pride.
2. Thanks to everyone who helped out this weekend making cards for the troops! They all looked really pretty I think. And some people need to still make them, and you should just give them to Candice by Thursday. You know who you are. Ha. Good job to all, I’m sure it’ll brighten the day of many!!
--Encourage people to donate money or candy at Lucy’s, Downer, or at the Grill this week! (There is a sign at Downer and the cashiers are aware and will be collecting the money themselves)
--If you can’t do one of these required service or fundraising projects for each term you need to make other arrangements with the committee chairs prior to the event.
3. Upcoming Street Team Distribution the week of Feb. 20-27th.
4. Peter made some signs for us to hang out in the dorms in the grill, library etc. Peter was pretty saucy. I wouldn’t ask him how many he wants in the library if I were you. Saucy. But the signs were SWEEEEET. Good job to Peter.
5. Jenny had an announcement. Circle K is going to Boys and Girls Club to help with their Valentine’s Day Party. You can get some service hours by going! We are meeting at the Wriston at 4:45pm on Valentine’s day.
OTHER UPDATES
1. Stephanie volunteered to take our clothes to Goodwill for a service hour. Thanks dudette.
2. Linda had some updates:
We got a $25 check from Wal-Mart.
Be thinking of who we want to nominate for the Lambda Sigma Scholarship
50/50 chance that we will hold the national convention at Lawrence next year. We will know for sure soon. Mississippi might do it, but if not, we would. We all seemed to agree that we’d be willing to help out with this! This would be the first time that Lawrence held the national convention. Pretty sweet, huh.
3. Candice talked to us about Sibling Support. She is eating dinner with a representative from that organization next Monday. They will be talking about how Lambda Sigma can get involved with this great organization. The woman will be speaking in the Coffeehouse on Monday at 7:00pm. This group offers support to the siblings of people with disabilities.
Horray for meetings!
No one was absent!!!!
Until next week…..
