LAMBDA SIGMA MINUTES 5-10-04

Two flocks together in peace

*Meeting began at 8:05 p.m. We were late. But there was food.

*Peter's report (or ramble):
        -new officer elections next week!!!!
-the two groups will meet in separate rooms next week.  Jon and Linda (the "sheepdogs," if you will) will preside over the elections in the little lamb farm.
-descriptions of officer and committee chair duties are on the website (more to come in these minutes!!!)
-we want to have smooth "officer transitions" this year, so there are crises
-Shack-a-Thon is this Saturday!!!- new members can help fundraise and are invited to sleep in the shack (in the most non-risqué way possible).  Peter will go out  with anyone interested sometime this week to pick up things to build a shack with.  Cars are appreciated.

*Kyle's (treasurer) report
-Kyle was absent.  This was sad because the budget is normally extraordinarily mind-stimulating…  Anyway, we look like we're on the right track to leave next year's group with the same starting amount.  Yay!  Ask Kyle if you have any questions.

*Jon's (Vice-President) Report
-He said it looks like we have a good group.  Thanks, Jon!

*Shannon's (Reporting Secretary) report
-I do not have any words of wisdom.  I do like writing minutes, though.

*Service Committee Report (Pete)
-The art center is still looking for some help to work at their benefit on May 22.  The form for this event is due May 17 (next Monday)
-On May 15, there is a clean-up event at the historical center on Prospect.
-On the 22nd, there is a "HoeDown" at the senior center.  The Volunteer Center has information about this.
-See Pete if you would like more information on these events of other service activities (especially if you need HOURS!!!)

*Social Committee Report (Casey)
-the report was generally antisocial.  The food provided was really good though!

*Fundraising Committee Report (Zack)
-our next fundraiser is the "see how many dorks can fit into a car" to be held outside of Downer.  It sounds educational AND fun(draising)!!!
-We will do another Krispy Kreme Sale soon, possibly for charity-so you can receive more HOURS!
-There will probably be two more pizza/movie nights… stay tuned!
*Publicity Committee Report (Becca)
        -let's talk about officer positions…

*The meeting ended at 8:46 p.m.
