At the beginning of the meeting we played a name game.

Clara from Greenfire stopped by to talk about their proposal to the

university for using environmental procedures when building the new

union and dorm.  Greenfire is asking us to back them and sign their

proposal.

Ushers are needed for the February 19 and 20 showings of the Vagina

Monologues at the chapel.  Ushers will also be needed for the

convocation on Thursday, February 21.

ABC - The phone-a-thon will be taking place on the 5th and 6th.

Professor Dana is cooking!!  Please remember to come if you signed up.

Wenjie will send out an email of when the vans will be leaving on the

two days.

Pizza Sale

We will be having a pizza sale on Sunday, February 10.  We will probably

have it in Kohler, so that it's close to Downer.  Poonam will email us

later in the week with more information.  Also publicity committee

should make signs to publicize for the fundraising event.

LS scholarship

Lambda Sigma gives 4 - $500 academic scholarships each year.  One of the

members of our chapter has won it for the past two years.  Let's make it

three!!  Everyone needs to choose one person from the group that they

think would be a great applicant for the scholarship.  Please email

Linda your choice ASAP.

Standards Committee

Jon informed us that the standards committee decided that if a member

was asked to help with interviews for job candidates, and puts quite a

bit of time into it, they should get service hours for it.  For every

two hours that someone helps a department with interviews, they receive

one hour of lambda sigma service credit.

Service Project

Courtney presented a proposal for a service project.  She spoke with

some people who live in the area and they said they are concerned about

the area north of campus.  Courtney talked with a person from a church

in this area and they said that it would be great if we could put

together an after-school program.  We would get kids from Edison

Elementary school and run the after-school program at the church two

days a week.  It will take some time to set up, but would be something

that could continue in future years once it was initiated.  We could

also get other students on campus involved in the program.  There was a

general interest for this project.

Yeah for us…we got all reports into nationals on time!!!

The Lamb of the Week goes to Mary for her report on selection!!!

                Respectively,
