Lambda Sigma Meeting Minutes

April 15, 2002

Excused:  Erin Karner, Brian Payne

Absent:  No one was absent!!

Initiation of New Members - Friday, April 26, at 8:30 pm in Lucinda's

We also need people for faculty babysitting on April 26.

Shack-A-Thon - Habitat for Humanity is holding the first annual

Shack-A-Thon in which groups register to build a shack and then live in

it.  The proceeds go to the Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity.  The

registration fee is $120 and is due on April 21.  The actual event will

be held on May 18 and is overnight.

There was a general consensus in the group to participate in the event

and we will be registering!

Krispy Kremes - Kit passed around a sign-up sheet for tabling at Downer

to sell Krispy Kremes next week.  Poonam also handed out order forms.

We will have the same dorm reps as the last time.  We will have people

sign up at the front desk if they are interested in buying krispy kremes

and then the dorm rep will be responsible for finding them and asking

them for the money.  This will be a change, because we won't have the

front desks collect the money.  Chris C. handed out signs for everyone

to put up about the sale.

Alison talked about the March of Dimes Walk, which is on May 4.

Registration is at 8 am and the walk is at 9 am.  The winner gets some

cool stuff!

Selection Committee - Mary will be leaving Lawrence shortly, so Amy will

take over the selection committee chair.  Thank you Mary for all of your

hard work and we'll miss you!!  Interviews went very well and the

letters of acceptance/rejection will be going out on Friday.

We still need music for the ceremony and KT offered to put something

together.

Social Committee - We talked about having a pizza/movie night or going

to a pizza buffet.  The group agreed on doing the pizza buffet on April

27, the Saturday after initiation.  The buffet is $4 per person and

Lambda Sigma will pay for half of that, so everyone needs to bring $2.

After-School Program - It was the first day of the after-school

program.  There were eight kids there and they made playdoh and mixed

primary colors.  It went very well overall.  Kelly, Stacey, Erin K., and

Carrie will be going on Thursday.

The library sent all of the Lambda Sigma scrapbooks to Linda at Raymond

House.  Check them out if you get a chance!

The next meeting will be on April 22 at 8 pm in Sage Lounge.

                        Respectively,
