Greenfire minutes 23 October

Twenty in attendance tonight. This is very very good but encourage your friends to come too!

The Harvest Dinner went amazingly well. We made thank-you cards for Downer thanking them for their tremendous work.

Clean Plate Club

It will be the week after reading period, 10 November. Next week we will be assigning specific duties because we will not have a meeting the week before it (the 6^th?). There will be one HUGE campaign on one day where we almost harass people and then we will weigh the food and compare it.

Little Something Green Campaign

We have everything ready to go-money, laminator on campus,. paper, template, even some ideas but we need more. If you have any, send them to Matt at linealm@lawrence.edu. Perhaps next week we will have a short meeting so that we can hang up the little greens around campus.

Bolt construction will be coming to give a talk/tour of the green building that went into the new dorm. They will be here on the 16,17,or18 November, the date is still pending.

Brent-you said that you would possibly look into batteries, just for curiosity’s sake so that we know what exactly happens when we drop them off at Batteries Plus.

On Monday at 10pm in the Diversity Center (blue house at far end of the quad) there will be a ‘craft making’ get together to put together battery containers and paper bins.

Paul Schrode is interested in doing something about the energy waste produced by lights that are left on all the time in the Union, on the streets etc. He would like to get sensory lights. If you are interested in alternatives and WE  Energies (Wisconsin Energies) or Focus on Energy, talk to Amy (x7098) or Brent (x7637).

Next meeting will be same time, same place- Thursday 8:30 in Ormsby lounge.
