Hi Greenfire,

The focus of the meeting was on voting for positions.

-Our new Co-presidents will be Noah, Meera (pending acceptance), and possibly Jesse (who came in a close third, and may be chosen pending Meera’s decision).

-Alex Weck will be our treasurer
-I (Matt) will be secretary, and the position will alternate each term.

Even with these core positions, we need to focus on committees and projects next week.  I am sending out the committee list once again, and please think about what you want to do next year.

At this meeting multiple people expressed interest in a committee focusing on government and letter-writing.
Also suggested was a committee about environmental responsibility.

More immediately, we are addressing new student week and the environmental management system.

EVERYONE IS IN CHARGE OF NEW STUDENT WEEK!

Talk to freshmen, make them feel welcome, and then aggressively proselytize them into Greenfire.

Beth and Amy are rockin’ the day planner/notebook making (to give to freshmen).  They could use help on this task, so email them and volunteer to help them get this done!  [Beth: kondileb@lawrence.edu]

Concerning the EMS, Kat will be contacting Jill Beck and informing her about this, and about Greenfire’s presence on campus.

There will be a Greenfire field trip on Saturday the 5^th.  The two likely candidates are an organic farm or some nature place.  People brought up the idea of going to a bison farm, but Noah snubbed it, and he’s on top of this, so we ain’t goin’ to no bison farm.  If you have ideas for a place, come to the next meeting with them.

Next week’s meeting:
We are going to decide on committee’s next week, and may even briefly break up into each of our respective committee groups.  We are also going to talk about the house and its role in the organization.  Also, we will cover events and other stuff for next year.
