Information for Rowers

Fall Season Practice Schedule (2007) - Race Length: 4,000 meters (Distance Season)-Varsity: see emails from Bryan and Kat for weekly schedules. Novices: watch for emails from Nicholas.
Winter Season Practice Schedule (indoor)- Coaches and captains work out a schedule alternating erg usage and other indoor activities to keep in shape through the winter.
Spring Break! - Over spring break, the team travels south to train on the water in warmer weather. It is a full week where we literally row, eat, and sleep. At the end of the week, we usually organize scrimmage races against some of the other teams at camp, such as Northwestern, Boston, and Bowdoin. The Spring Break trip is optional, but it is the best way to be prepared for the spring season, which consists of five regattas in seven weeks. Spring Break is also a major determinant of boat lineups for the spring season. For 2008, spring break will be in Atlanta, GA, and we will row on Lake Lanier!

Spring Season Practice Schedule (2008) - Race Length: 2,000 meters (Sprint Season)
Practice schedules will be determined by boat depending on availability of boat members and coaches.

Costs...
Because we are a club team lacking in athletic department funding, we do various fundraising activities and collect dues. The only required clothing purchase is the standard racing uniform, a unisuit, but most of the team also orders additional clothing items for the colder practice days in Wisconsin (and to look exceptionally cool around campus).

Typical amounts are as follows:
Fall Season Dues: $70
Unisuit: $65-70
Spring Season Dues: $120
Spring Break: $350 Maximum (costs will vary annually)

Note: failure to pay dues on time will result in an additional $10 fee per week for the first month. If dues are not paid (or a payment plan is not made) by the end of that month, the resulting penalty is a two-week suspension from practice!
