The Somerset Room, the grand, cathedral-ceiling living room of the campus center, serves as a study lounge and reading room for most of campus. Named by an anonymous donor, the room is filled with comfortable seating, study tables, cushy couches, and rugs that that make it warm and inviting. Floor to ceiling windows offer breathtaking panoramic views of the Fox River, and the river trail is easily accessible by exits leading to the Stiehl Terrace.
Given its grandeur and size, the room is used for select large campus wide events, occasional community functions and weddings (summer, winter and spring break periods only). Because students heavily use it as a 24-hour studying space, the number of large events in the room is restricted during the academic year. The room contains a concealed A/V setup and all aspects of sound and lighting are easily controlled by intuitive wall mounted touch panels.
The Somerset Room can be combined with the Nathan Marsh Pusey Room for larger events
