A standard course must be scheduled using a regular class period ( a course valued at less than 6 units may use less than the full class period). Class periods are defined as follows:
Monday-Wednesday-Friday (three 70-minute sessions)

8:30-9:40 a.m.

9:50-11:00 a.m.

11:10 a.m.-12:20 p.m.

12:30-1:40 p.m.

1:50-3:00 p.m.

3:10-4:20 p.m.
Tuesday-Thursday (two 110-minute sessions)

9:00-10:50 a.m.

12:30-2:20 p.m.

2:30-4:20 p.m.

A course with a fourth or fifth session each week must be scheduled using one or more of the following times for the additional sessions:
Tuesday, Thursday, or both (70-minute sessions)

8:30-9:40 a.m.

9:50-11:00 a.m.

3:10-4:20 p.m.
The fourth or fifth sessions do not have to be held at the same time as the primary class period used for the class section.

A course with a laboratory session, must be scheduled using one or the following times for the laboratory:
Tuesday or Thursday (three hours)
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday (three hours)

Departments or instructors who wish to schedule courses at times that do not meet the requirements in 1-3, must obtain the approval of the Committee on Instruction.
