Consisting of engaged and dedicated Lawrence and Milwaukee-Downer alumni and friends of the university, the Legacy Circle National Council (LCNC) assists Lawrence in promoting the Legacy Circle to classmates and peers. National Council members serve as a resource for current and prospective Legacy Circle members, participate in Legacy Circle programs and events, and provide feedback on initiatives.
Co-chairs Marlene Crupi Widen M-D'55 and David Mitchell '71 recognize the importance and necessity of legacy giving and its impact on the future of Lawrence University.
Marlene's reasons for making a legacy gift reflect her appreciation for the education she received and the friends she made at Milwaukee-Downer College. Her legacy also ensures the traditions of Downer remain at Lawrence.
David believes one of the best ways of saying "thanks" is with a legacy he and his wife Judy have arranged for through giving a portion their estate.
The legacies of the Legacy Circle National Council members along with more than eight hundred other Lawrence and Downer Legacy Circle members will ensure the future vitality of Lawrence for years to come.
