Membership in all choirs other than Ragazze is determined by auditions held each spring for the following year.
The auditions for 2013-14 are completed. Fill out an application on-line, or call the Academy at 920-832-7038 with questions or to receive information for the following year.
Ragazze
A training choir for girls in grades three through five is open to any girl who wishes to sing. No audition required but space is limited. Register for Ragazze on the audition form. Applications are still being accepted, however, openings are limited.
Primo Auditions
Open to girls entering third or fourth grade in the fall.
Audition Dates
April 8: 4:00 - 7:30 p.m.
April 9: 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.
April 10: 4:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Audition Requirements
1. Girls will audition in groups of three
2. Each girl will sing “Are You Sleeping” (“Frere Jacques”) in the key of G with the group and by herself
3. Each girl will echo melodic patterns

Allegretto Auditions
Open to girls entering fifth grade in the fall.
Audition Dates
April 8: 4:00 - 7:30 p.m.
April 9: 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.
April 10: 4:30 - 7:30 p.m.

1. Girls will audition in groups of three
2. Each girl will sing “Are You Sleeping” (“Frere Jacques”) in the key of G by herself and as a round with a conductor
3. Each girl will echo melodic patterns

Girls Entering Grades 6-8 Auditions
Girls who are entering grades 6-8 in the fall will audition for our newly-forming ensembles.

April 14: 1:00 - 6:00 p.m.
April 15: 4:00 - 8:30 p.m.
April 16: 4:00 - 8:30 p.m.
Audition Requirements
1. Girls will audition in groups of two
2. Each girl will sing “Are You Sleeping” in the key of G as a round with one of the conductors
3. Each girl will sing “America” (“My Country ‘Tis of Thee”) in the key of G
4. Each girl will echo melodic patterns
5. Each girl will clap basic rhythm patterns

Cantabile Auditions
Open to girls entering grades 9-10 in the fall.

April 28: 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. - Full - please choose April 29
April 29: 4:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Audition Requirements
1. Girls will audition individually
2. Each girl will sing “America” (“My Country ‘Tis of Thee”) in the key of G
3. Each girl will clap the rhythm of one line in a choral octavo (piece of choral music)
4. Each girl will sight-read a two-measure phrase

Bel Canto Auditions
Open to girls entering grades 11-12 in the fall.
Audition Dates
April 28: 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. - Full; please choose April 30th
April 30: 4:00 - 9:00 p.m
Audition Requirements
1. Girls will audition individually
2. Girls new to the Girl Choir program should plan to sing a prepared solo of their choice. An example of an acceptable solo is a song that appears on the WSMA Solo and Ensemble classical (not musical theatre) soprano or alto list. The website for WSMA is www.wsmamusic.org
3. Each girl will clap the rhythm of one line in a choral octavo (piece of choral music)
4. Each girl will sight-read a four-measure phrase
