The Symphonic Band provides experience with advanced music for middle school band students. The ensemble is open to seventh, eighth, and ninth-grade band students from all Fox Valley communities. The ensemble rehearses on Monday nights (two ten-week semesters) at the Lawrence Conservatory of Music, offers group sectionals, and presents concerts in the Lawrence Chapel in November and March. Touring opportunities may be available.
The Symphonic Band is open to band students with a minimum one year of experience on their instrument and with teacher recommendation. No audition necessary. Seating placement auditions will take place in the fall.
Students in Symphonic Band must be enrolled in their school music programs, if available. Attendance is required at all rehearsals except in case of illness, family emergency, or required school concert.
