Piano Odyssey day camp is for the motivated student of the piano, looking to explore this fantastic instrument in greater depth. All classes are taught by skilled, enthusiastic, and widely-respected teachers in a setting designed to foster self-confidence, creativity, and understanding of the piano.
Daily sessions include music theory and duet practice. Many other specialized sessions occur during the week and include improvisation, stage presence and more! Students are grouped according to age for most activities. Our theme this year is the voice. Students will explore piano music as it relates to the voice, including Broadway, opera and folk songs.
Lunch will be provided daily at the Warch Campus Center. Each day includes swimming or other recreational activities at the Buchanan Kiewit Wellness Center.
A recital on Friday afternoon, July 12, is open to all families. There will be a minimal fee for music purchase.
Eligibility
Piano Odyssey is open to students ages 8-16 who have studied piano for at least two years.
