Learn to play music in an orchestra as an adult - even if you have no musical experience! Members of the LAMP (Lawrence Adult Music Program) Orchestra will meet new friends while learning music for concert performances.
Playing music is a way of experiencing life: playing music from the past reminds us that we are connected to history; daily practice keeps us active in the present; striving for new goals attaches us to the future.
The orchestra meets weekly for a rehearsal each Tuesday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. with conductor Rachel Richards at Trinity Lutheran Church, Appleton. Each rehearsal includes small group instruction and a full ensemble rehearsal. Concerts include intergenerational performances with other Academy ensembles as well as playing for community events in venues including formal concerts, parks, and retirement homes.
Call the Academy office at 920-832-6632 for information and a brochure about this opportunity. To learn more about the orchestra program, please refer to frequently asked questions.
