The Lawrence Academy of Music Piano Festival allows piano students the opportunity to demonstrate their musical knowledge though performance, musicianship, and theory. Students in grades K-12 from throughout the Fox Valley are eligible to participate. Students are required to learn and memorize two pieces, one of which must be written by a contemporary composer, as well as complete a theory test, technique requirement and answer questions concerning each piece. Winners are chosen by an adjudicator and are given the opportunity to play in a recital. Students are registered for the festival by their piano instructors.
