Students of various students performing: a choir, a pianist, a chamber ensemble, and two children playing a Balinese drum with their parents.

Performance represents an essential part of a student's musical growth. Students are urged to take advantage of opportunities to perform and to listen to others perform. Academy performances include departmental recitals, general student recitals, honors recitals, faculty recitals, master classes, and numerous performances by all of our ensembles during the year. Families are encouraged to attend as many performances as possible; most are free or at low admission cost.

Honors Recital

The Academy of Music presents an Honors Recitals each year in the Lawrence Memorial Chapel. Participants are nominated by their teachers; finalists are chosen by audition, playing before two judges. A reception in their honor immediately follows the recital. The Honors Recital is free and open to the public.

Master Classes and Guest Artists

Over the course of each academic year, guest teaching artists from other parts of the country visit the Lawrence Academy of Music. Students who study with Academy or Conservatory teachers are nominated to participate for free or at a low cost. Master classes are always free and open to observers and family members.
