This season represents a milestone for the Artist & Jazz Series at Lawrence University. In 2008-09, we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Artist Series, which through the years has attracted a “who’s who” of legendary performers to the college — virtuosos including violinist Isaac Stern, singer Marian Anderson, baritone and film star Nelson Eddy, pianist Arthur Rubinstein, Count Basie and his Orchestra, pianist Vladimir Horowitz, and cellist Yo-Yo Ma.
Fifteen years ago we mixed in some jazz and the Artist & Jazz Series has become one of the most anticipated events on Lawrence’s musical calendar.
