Lawrence Symphony Orchestra Concert
7:00 p.m. - Stillwater High School
Under the direction of David E. Becker, the Lawrence Symphony Orchestra joins the Stillwater High School Orchestra in performing works by Shostakovich and Saint-Saëns. The performance also features acclaimed violinist Wen-Lei Gu. 
Admission is free and pre-registration is not required.

Walker Art Center Special Exhibit: “Present Tense” 
Reception/gallery talk 1:00 p.m., guided tour 2:45 p.m.
Assistant Professors of Art Julie Lindemann and John Shimon join Dan Leers ’02, one of the curators of JoAnn Verberg’s “Present Tense” exhibit, which originated at New York City’s Museum of Modern Art. The event begins with a reception and gallery talk in the Skyline Room followed by a guided tour of the exhibit.

Dena Skran, Associate Professor of Government and Edwin N. and Ruth Z. West Professor of Economics and Social Science, explores the ways in which the United States seeks to export democracy to nations around the world. How do our efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan, for example, compare to Sierra Leone? Meet with guests for a reception before the lecture.
