Praised by Newsweek magazine as "the nation's leading presidentialhistorian," Michael Beschloss is a provocative political author and televisioncommentator. He is a regular on PBS's The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer and appears frequently on network news programs including Nightline and Meet thePress. Beschloss is also the author of the national bestseller Taking Charge: The Johnson White House Tapes, 1963-1964 and a former member of the President'sCommission on White House Fellowships. He currently serves on the boards of theWhite House Historical Association, Foreign Affairs magazine,and the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars Cold War History Project.
