"Mending the Earth: Ethical Issues in Healing the Global Environment"

Christopher D. Stone is J. Thomas McCarthy Trustee Professor of Law at the University of Southern California. Professor Stone has written in a several areas including the environment, white collar and corporate crime, legal philosophy, U.S. alternate energy policy, climate change, biodiversity, ocean policy, and trade law. He has served on or worked under the auspices of a variety of governmental agencies including the President's Commission on Communications Policy, the Energy Research and Development Administration, the National Institute of Mental Health, the National Science Foundation, the Department of Energy, and the United States Sentencing Commission.

In preparation for the Rio Earth Summit (1992 UNCED) Conference, Professor Stone served as Rapporteur for the American Bar Association's Intersectional Committee on International Law and the Environment in shaping the ABA's Resolutions on International Law of the Environment.

He is a member of the Commission on Environmental Law of the IUCN (World Conservation Union) and serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of Environmental Ethics; as Editor in Environmental Law, Environmental Conservation (Geneva); and on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Economics and Development.

Professor Stone is a Trustee of the Center for International Environmental Law and an Advisor to the Foundation for International Environmental Law and Development.
