Edward Hirsch, Professor of English at the University of Houston, is the author of five books of poems, including On Love, Earthly Measures, The Night Parade, Wild Gratitude, and For the Sleepwalkers. He has been the recipient of fellowships from the MacArthur and Guggenheim foundations, as well as the National Endowment for the Arts. His work has also been honored with a National Book Critics Circle Award, the Rome Prize from the American Academy in Rome, and a Lila Wallace-Reader's Digest Writers' Award.
