• Use online and paper indexes to find periodical articles that may be helpful in your research
• Familiarize yourself with the layout of the paper indexes
• For online indexes:
  • Be sure to understand which fields (abstract, author, keyword, etc.) the index searches
  • Try the same search terms in different fields (keyword, abstract, title, subject), using them as single words and phrases
  • Use the hot links to connect to like articles
