Media Services for the Conservatory

Research Assistance
Antoinette Powell is the Music Librarian. She is available to answer questions and provide research assistance. Please stop by her office located on the first floor of the Library, phone her at x6995, or send an email for reference assistance. You can also look for her at the Library's Reference Desk.

Recital/Concert Duplication
Students, faculty, and staff may request copies of recitals or concerts by filing out the request form.

Music E-Reserves
The Seeley G. Mudd Library offers online text and audio reserve materials. Sound files are delivered as streaming audio and texts are available as .pdf (portable document format) files. Sound files are only accessible through on-campus workstations that have sound cards. See Music E-Reserves Policy and Procedure and the Frequently Asked Questions page for basic information on using electronic reserves.

Video Viewing/Music Listening
Five viewing/listening rooms are available in Media Services (one will seat four persons, the other four seat one or two persons). Each room is equipped with a VCR and monitor, as well as DVD, cassette, and CD players. Two rooms also contain turntables. Room use is restricted to Lawrence University students, faculty, and staff. A weekly schedule for room use is posted on each door every Sunday. You may sign up for only one two and one-half hour session at a time. Academic viewing and listening take priority over recreational use. To gain access to a room, you will need your University ID card. Fifteen Music Listening Stations are also available on a first-come first-served basis. Each station is equipped with turntable, cassette deck, CD player and headphones. Five stations have campus computer network access for music listening reserves.
