Interlibrary loan is a service that provides access to materials needed for academic research that are not accessible through the Seeley G. Mudd Library. This service is available to all students, staff, and faculty of the Lawrence University community at no charge.
Important: Check our library catalog LUCIA and FindIT first!
- Remember to list ALL required personal information including your full name, your campus address (faculty and staff), your campus mailbox number (students), and your official Lawrence e-mail address.
- DON'T ABBREVIATE. If we don't know exactly what the title is, we won't be able to order it. If you need help determining the full title, ask a reference librarian.
- Include all of the volume, issue, date, and page information, including ISSN numbers for journals. Your request will be processed faster if you provide complete and accurate information.
- Give the source of your citation if at all possible. If you found the citation in an online database, give the name of the database (WorldCat, MLA, etc.); if you found it in a book, provide the title of the book and the page on which the citation appears. If you found it on another library's online catalog, provide that information (for example, Beloit College library catalog, UW Eau Claire library catalog, etc.). If you found it on a web page, give us a printed copy or the address of the page. This information can help us find the item you're looking for, perhaps even closer to hand and more quickly.
