Understanding the point of view of the books and articles you have found:

It is not always easy to determine the point of view of the articles you find. The following may help:

  • The Encyclopedia of Associations. RRef. [q.] HS17 .G33
  • The Left Guide : A Guide to Left-of-Center Organizations. Ref. [q.] HS2321 .L44
  • The Right Guide : A Guide to Conservative and Right-of-Center Organizations. Ref. [q.] HS2321 .R54

The titles listed above will give you some indication of the political orientation of groups and publications within the United States.

You may also want to consider whether the article was written for general readers or for an academic or professional audience. Two resources that can help you are Magazines for Libraries (Ref. [q.] Z6941 .M23) and Ulrich's Periodicals Directory. The library's guide on Some Hints on Evaluation of Books and Articles gives you more ideas and sources to use to think about the viewpoint of your sources, based on information you will need to cite the source in your bibliography.

You can always ask a reference librarian or your instructor for more ideas.
