Dedicated in the fall of 1963, A. A. Trever Hall housed 176 men and 1 resident supervisor. The four-story red brick building was built at a cost of $835,000 and financed primarily through a government loan.

The color scheme in the building was inspired by the abstract oil painting by New York artist Jeannette Goldstone displayed in the Trever lounge.

The cornerstone was laid as the second major event of the presidential installation day for President Curtis W. Tarr. In attendance with Tarr were William L. Wright, president of the board of trustees; John H. Wilterding, chairman of the trustee committee on buildings and grounds; Miss Ruth Trever and Karl L. Trever, children of Albert Trever.

A fire caused by a candle which ignited a wall tapestry in a room caused more than $150,000 in damage on the night of April 13, 1987.

Today, Trever is a co-ed hall with 174 residents.
