The large goal of this project is to evaluate how iPads can be used in the classroom in innovative ways. In addition, the project has several additional goals:
-
Determining the key elements of effective technical support for iPad use in the classroom and what factors promote or impede this support.
-
To support a grant application for a larger number of iPads for classroom use.
The long-term research questions we wish to answer are:
-
Which uses of the iPad are most/least useful in helping students meet course goals?
-
Do the iPads detract in any significant way from traditional modes of teaching and learning valued by the students or instructors?
-
Does the presence of iPads in the classroom have an impact on students’ perception of educational technology in general?
-
What new uses of the devices do users envision? Do they exist? Could they be coming down the line?
