About Place About Face Metro Gold Line Pico/Aliso Station
By Rob Neilson
BACKGROUND I began this process with the requirement that this public art piece involve the community, that the imagery references the area and its people.
The work had to speak of the area’s inhabitant in the past, present and future.
I wanted a piece that encouraged a sense of ownership and involvement within the Pico/Aliso community: That the artwork be about the community, from the community, and belong to the community.
Like all my public art projects the content of this piece also needed to address the role or function of the location: To be site-specific.
