Search Databases for Video Recordings

The Mudd Library subscribes to the following databases. They can be accessed either on campus, or with a current student, faculty, or staff login.

VAST: Academic Video Online: This expansive database of videos includes dance, history, education, literature, theater, and more. Searchable transcripts are provided for all videos.

Encyclopedia Britannica Online: "Full-length videos providing in-depth coverage" in the sciences, arts and humanities.

Met Opera on Demand: Access to more than 450 full-length productions from the Metropolitan Opera House.

Videos Online

These video collections are available online without a subscription.

Moving Image Archive: A library of free movies, films, and videos. This library contains thousands of digital movies uploaded by Archive users which range from classic full-length films, to daily alternative news broadcasts, to cartoons and concerts. Many of these videos are available for free download.

HotDocs. A library of Canada’s rich documentary filmmaking heritage.

C-SPAN Archives: Records, indexes, and archives of all C-SPAN programming for historical, educational, research, and archival uses.

Free for All Streaming Video Guide: This extensive guide, created by librarians at the University of Washington libraries, contains a long list of excellent free video databases- from historical to popular.

Search for Videos in LUCIA, the Lawrence Library Catalog

This will search the library catalog for all VHS and DVDs held by the library.
