Potentially Cubist Picasso Portrait (2007)

Each student was given a number of 1 & 1/8" x 7/8" rectangles with a portion of the image (like the one at left). They were then asked to enlarge the image into an 18" x 24" pencil or charcoal drawing.

The artists never saw original complete image.

This assignment was intended to explore the notions of relative value and scale.
